Charlie Sheen has taken up his mantle of indignation. He has challenged Phil Robertson to apologize, or, he will rain down great consequence upon his head. Charlie, whose own life has occasionally been a bit of a mess, is donning the mantle of morality and coming to the defense of his friends who don’t have a voice. Sheen has promised that Robertson is now in the “Crosshairs of a Masheen style media beat down.” Nice. Although I have no idea what it means. Can’t wait to see what Charlie does next. Read the rest of his comments linked below. Not the most outlandish comments I’ve ever read from Sheen, but at his full insulting best. Here’s my advice Charlie; whatever you do keep it strictly in the media. Stay out of Louisiana. If anything happens in person, you might be in for an old-fashioned redneck azz-whipping. My money’s on Robertson. If they do meet up, I hope it’s at the Cracker Barrel.
In response to the Duck Dynasty brouhaha, the Cracker Barrel restaurant pulled DD merchandise off the shelves. In response to their customers’ reaction and social media response, they quickly started putting it back. Really, Cracker Barrel? Who do you think eats there? I don’t care for the Cracker Barrel myself, but of all the times I’ve driven by one, I’ve never seen a Prius in the parking lot. Capitalism wins over whatever stand the Cracker Barrel was trying to make. It’s a little of an embarrassment in my opinion. The CB says, “Ok, we’ll pull merchandise off the shelves due to those comments.” “Uh, no, let’s put it back.”
Here’s the letter to their customers:
Dear Cracker Barrel Customer:
When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that’s just what we’ve done.
You told us we made a mistake. And you weren’t shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings. You flat out told us we were wrong.
Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores.
And, we apologize for offending you.
We respect all individuals’ right to express their beliefs. We certainly did not mean to have anyone think different.
We sincerely hope you will continue to be part of our Cracker Barrel family.
I guess it’s nice they responded to their customers. Here’s my interpretation of the letter.
Dear Cracker Barrel customer:
We are sincerely just trying to figure out who we shouldn’t offend the most.
We have figured out the people who are offended by Robertson’s comments don’t eat in our restaurants as much as the ones that aren’t.
We’re reversing our decision because we don’t want to lose your money.
We apologize for offending the people who spend money in our stores and eat in our restaurants.
We didn’t mean it. Please come back.
